"Just take your time, don't waste their mind.
No sticks and strings, no wiggels and wags.
Just work their mind - and be amazed!"
In November/December 2013 I spend another month at Bolender Horse Park to train with Mark Bolender. It was a wonderful time and I felt really at home and it was hard for me to get on that plane back home but here my family and my wonderful horses waited for me and it was time to get back.
It was a really educational and interesting time in Washington. I had the chance to refine my skills in judging and training of Extreme and Mountain Trail and get new ideas.
On December 6th and 7th weh ad a judging clinic at Bolender Horse Park where we were introduced to the newest judging standarts. The rules of the International Mountain Trail Challenge Association are not only exceptional brilliant and very objective but also approved by the AQHA for their trail challenges.
The Highlight of this year’s trip was Mark’s Auditor Clinic at the Oregon Horse Center. The trail course at the OHC was set up for the National Championships and got teared down again after Mark’s clinic and takes place in a giant indoor arena.
Mark and we apprentices worked with 7 horses and their owners in front of a big crowd and showed it Mark’s training philosophy. Although it was really cold everything was very successful and the people fascinated of what they saw. I am really proud to be part of this event and it was an honor for me to work with my teacher – one of the best horsemen of our time.
Beside the horse events we had many familiar moments as a trip to Mnt. St. Helens, Portland, Thanksgiving or the Cookie Swap.
So on the 17th December I landed in Germany – with two new certificates:
Advanced Judging and
Level 2 Apprentice
Thanks for a wonderful time! I miss you all. I’m so proud to spread Mark’s training philosophy here in Germany.
Home is where your heart is .... hard to say where my heart is - I think I have two families and two beautiful places where I can feel at home.
I can't wait for 2014 and wish all my friends and customers Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
